Major Shift Proved Highly Successful
Pemu, a simulated computer » Devlog
My plan to turn Pemu from an interpreter to a compiler has proved highly successful. I have ported the majority of instructions to the compiler version, and test runs are showing speeds of 4.368 GHz - 4.914 GHz. I will apply optimizations to increase this further, but this is nearing the highest possible speed without major architectural changes. Coming from the unoptimized Python version of 200 kHz, this is a 2349900% speed increase. This extremally fast version will available in the upcoming hours, to days.
